The Andrew earns Wine Spectator’s 2026 Best of Award of Excellence

This year, our gastronomic restaurant received Wine Spectator’s 2026 Best of Award of Excellence — a distinction held by some of the finest restaurant wine programmes in the world. It is an honour, and a moment for which we are grateful.

Yet what comes to mind is not the award itself, but where the journey began.

Many years ago, we discovered wine through public tastings and open events — often offered freely by people who believed in sharing knowledge, culture and passion with others. What fascinated us was never luxury. It was generosity: strangers opening bottles, sharing stories, passing on knowledge, and creating connections around a table.

Over the years, that passion grew into a remarkable collection. But as a family, we came to understand that the collection itself was never the point. Just as art is not simply about owning artworks, and houses are not simply about owning properties, wine is not simply about bottles. What matters is what these passions can give.

This is why a recognition like Wine Spectator’s means what it does to us: not as a trophy, but as a sign that a cellar can still bring people to the table and keep them there. It is one of the foundations of everything we build, and of our vision of Heritage & Legacy — places and experiences where people come together, share ideas, discover beauty, learn from one another, and feel part of a community.

Because the greatest legacy is not what we leave behind. It is what we pass on.

And if there is one lesson we carry, it is that passion grows when it is shared generously. We hope that through wine, art, hospitality and culture, we can keep passing that spirit forward — for generations to come.
